Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Storage Compass (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated as a sole trader in the United Kingdom. Contact: info@storagecompass.co.uk. These Terms form a binding contract between you and the operator of Storage Compass and govern your use of storagecompass.co.uk and any related services (the “Service”).

2. Acceptance & eligibility

By accessing or using the Service you confirm you are at least 18, have authority to bind any organisation you represent, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

3. Accounts, plans & payment

Some features require an account and a paid plan. Prices are shown on the Pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are processed by our payment provider (Paddle.com Market Ltd), who acts as the merchant of record and handles applicable VAT/sales tax. Except where required by law, fees paid are non-refundable. You may cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the current billing period.

4. Data & no reliance (important)

The Service aggregates information from public registers (Companies House, HM Land Registry, local planning authorities, ONS, UK Police API, OpenStreetMap), operator websites, third-party APIs and our own analysis. While we take reasonable care, the data:
  • is provided “as is” and “as available”;
  • may be incomplete, out of date, estimated or contain errors;
  • includes model-derived figures (e.g. supply gap scores, catchment estimates, build-cost estimates, occupancy proxies) which are indicative only;
  • does not constitute investment, valuation, planning, legal, tax, financial or professional advice.
You must independently verify anything material before relying on it — particularly for site acquisition, development, lending, valuation or planning decisions. See our full data disclaimer.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) scrape, bulk-download, or re-sell the Service or its data other than as expressly permitted by your plan; (b) reverse engineer, frame, or misrepresent the Service; (c) upload unlawful, infringing or misleading content (including via facility claims or lead forms); (d) attempt to gain unauthorised access; (e) use the Service to send unsolicited communications or in breach of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 or PECR.

6. Facility claims & user submissions

Operators may submit claim requests, land listings and other content. You warrant you have authority and rights to submit that content and that it is accurate. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and process submissions for the purpose of operating the Service. We may reject, edit or remove submissions at our discretion.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, code, compiled datasets, scoring models and branding are owned by us or our licensors. Third-party data remains the property of its respective source. Your plan grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use outputs internally for your own business use. No rights are granted by implication.

8. Third-party sources & links

The Service surfaces data from and links to third parties (e.g. Google Maps/Street View, Companies House, PlanIt, UK Police API, operator websites). We are not responsible for third-party content, availability or practices, and their use may be subject to their own terms.

9. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features at any time. Scheduled and emergency maintenance may occur without notice.

10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that: (a) we exclude all implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted; (b) we are not liable for indirect, consequential, special or punitive losses, loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, goodwill, anticipated savings, or losses arising from reliance on data supplied via the Service; and (c) our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service in any 12-month period is capped at the greater of £100 or the fees you paid us in that period.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you submit.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for material breach, non-payment, or to protect the Service or other users. On termination your right to use the Service ends immediately; clauses that by their nature survive (IP, disclaimers, liability, governing law) will survive.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, save that if you are a consumer resident in another UK nation, you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
